LOVE This Cleaner
This is a great cleaner, I love how it sucks up the dirty water. I do not mind having to refill the cup a few times. I found it to work very well on wood, tile and ceramic. The grout cleaner works really great on cermaic tiles. Highly recommend this product. I did find it cheaper at my local Hoover dealer.

Buyer beware
I purchased this in the spring of '09, knowing that I was having hardwood floors placed in the following weeks. I used it 3 times and the motor for the brush quit working. We had to drive it 120 miles to the nearest authorized service provider. It took two weeks but it turns out that Hoover quit making the Impulse almost 4 years ago and that they no longer have the motor available. My only option is to allow Hoover to select a replacement, pay the difference and for shipping, and hope for the best. And Hoover no longer has cordless floor cleaners.

It's light, easy to use and very efficient.

Stay Away, This thing is a piece of junk!!!!!
I was very excited when I purchased this item figuring it to give my tile kitchen floor a good scrubbing. Well guess what, this thing has no power and does not really clean except for top-dirt. It does not really scrub your floor clean and the battery died after half my floor was done. One more thing is that it is very flimsy. Stick with the Shark steam cleaner (which I also have), it does a better job in a lot less time.

Just not worth it
I was looking for something quick & easy to clean my kitchen tile floor as I was tired of getting on my hands and knees, especially for spot areas. I don't like cleaning, but if I can use a machine that makes it easy w/ little hassle, I tend to clean much more often. I thought this would be the case when I purchased this mop. However, I really don't see the benefit of this mop at all. It takes a long time to clean as you have to go slow to let it scrub & suck up the water. Now my floors aren't terribly filthy, but I couldn't really tell the difference when I used this mop. Thus, I don't really see the benefit and it is now one more gadget I have to find space for to store. Hence, if you are thinking this is the answer to your problems in terms of an easy & effective way to clean your floors, think again.

If you are like me, and don't like putting a lot of effort into cleaning, I recommend just purchasing any one of those non-electric swivel microfiber mops. The swivel mops are so easy to manuever and much faster to setup & cleanup. If you buy multiple pads, you can use them for all kinds of cleaning & not just the floor, like I use a dry pad for wiping down my walls quickly of dust, etc. Now again, I'm talking to people who don't like putting a lot of effort into cleaning, but who like things fairly clean and have reasonable expectations that nothing is going to clean as well as getting on your hands & knees and scrubbing every inch of surface area unless you want to purchase a professional level type of cleaner or hire someone else to do it. Furthermore, I'm not talking about floors so clean it would pass for a hospital operating room or to eat of off.

But back to the floors (tile floors, don't know about hard wood floors), if you are good about wiping up spills & crumbs every so often rather than let them get hard & crusted after a week needing your fingernail or hard brush to remove then a swivel mop is all you need. It's fast & convenient and you don't need to get on your hands & knees every week. Although, you might want to do a full clean like that every month or two. In any case, I just use a dry pad or broom to mop up dust, dry crumbs, etc. something you have to do even w/ one of these electric mops. I then rip off the pad & put on the one I will use wet. With a spray bottle in my hand of whatever cleaner/disinfectant you desire to use I just squirt over any stains & mop it up w/ the swivel mop. I'm sure they have swivel mops w/ their own sprayer but again you trade off price & more time to setup/clean up when done. My way, there's no buckets of water to fill up. If you are really lazy & don't want to keep washing off the pad, just buy a lot of extra pads, so you keep taking them off after you finish a certain section of the floor. At the end, just do a quick rinse & wring them out and throw them in the washer since they are re-usable.

Do Not Purchase This Steam Mop
I requested this mop as a Christmas gift about a year ago and I used it maybe 12 times and it stopped working. I contacted the company and received no response.

Broken Handle
LIke the other reviewers the handle on this steam mop broke. Mine lasted around 8 months. Do not buy complete crap.

Don't waste your precious money
The third time my wife used this mop, the T plastic hinge between the broom and the pad broke. You can't blame my wife because she has several other cleaning instruments, and they've been working for years. The mop is a good idea but the execution is very poor. Keep your money.

Do Not Buy This Mop
This mop did not work when I received it. Amazon treated me very well during the return/refund process. However, the so-called "president" of the vendor called me to beg me to rescind my bad review -- I fell for his plea after he promised to send me a new mop (bad move on my part to allow myself to be bought) and told me the customer rep I dealt with at his company would be fired. This was all a scam to get me to remove my negative comments. So, here's my review again. Caveat Emptor!!!

By the way, he never sent the promised new mop, but then I told him not to send it, as I did not want anything from him and his outfit. I also told him never to contact me again, and he better not do so when he sees this review.

Loved it until handle broke off of head after 3 months
This is a great idea & worked well as long as it lasted, but for me that was only 3 months. We mop 2-3 times per week & after 3 months, the handle literally snapped off of the head. I pulled out my warranty (1-yr limited) & read the fine print. I have to mail the unit back to them, enclose a check for .95 for handling & shipping, & then pay the labor costs associated with fixing my unit on top of that. It could easily be cheaper to buy a new mop since I have no idea what the labor charges will be. However, I won't be buying a new mop. There is a design flaw with this one & and I see the same thing happening with a replacement. You can see from the picture that it is a very small neck where the unit meets the mop head. After continual usage, the pressure becomes too great & the part snaps. I don't see this being on the market long unless they resolve the design flaw.

Very Impressed
I have been searching for a steam cleaner for months. I've gone through regular mops and swiffer's and have not gotten the cleanliness I wanted. Our floors are constantly dirty from kids and pets. I picked the Monter Steam Mop because of the high degree of steam it gives off and also for the carpet attachment.

I used it in the bathroom and kitchen and it got up all the stains that I usualy have to scrub with a mop and ammonia to get out. I didn't even have to go over the floor twice. I also shortened the handle and used it on our counter for the koolaid stains that seem to have made a permanent mark. The steamer made my counter literally look brand new.

I used it on the carpet and it wasn't too bad getting up loose dirt but, I will keep my Bissel Carpet Cleaner.

The only thing I didn't like was that the tank was too big to fit under the bottom of the cabinets but,I blew steam out the front of the tank and was able to losen those areas up enough to wipe up the dirt. For me it wasn't too much of a hassel.
There was access water that had to dry when I did the kitchen.

Overall I would recommend the Monster Floor EZ1 Steam Mop to anyone who would like a good Steam Mop.

As well as expected - solid performance
Pros:
1) cleans our tile better than mopping; I can walk around in socks and there is a noticeable difference now that we switched
2) don't have to purchase cleaning solution
3) don't really think it's "heavy"; my wife is 5'2" and 105 lbs and doesn't have any problems using it
4) longer than expected run time (even on full steam); our house is 3400 square feet and we can clean our master bedroom, breakfast nook, kitchen, large entry hallway, and another bathroom on one tank
5) stops steam quickly; when my two year old or dogs get close, you just lift it up and it stops immediately
6) floors dry quicker than mopping

Cons:
1) waiting a few minutes for it to heat up; usually we get it plugged in prior to vacuuming and it's always been ready
2) waiting 5 minutes between tank refills
3) carpet performance not as good as on tile, but still nice to have
4) would like a longer cord; purchased a 25' outdoor 14 gauge extension cord and plug into GFI's whenever possible
5) wish angle of jets on front of unit attached to trigger were pointed more at the floor.

We've been using this unit twice per week since the week between Christmas and New Years (7+ weeks) with no problems. I am going to order a second one for my dental practice and see how it holds up with employees banging it around.

So easy to use!
We looked all around and read many reviews before buying the Monster. We couldn't be happier. We have 2 dogs, 2 cats, and 2 kids so we had a need for a steam mop for all of our hardwood and tile. I'm not sure how we've made it this long without a steam mop. It is so much easier than a regular mop, and it makes our floors much cleaner.

Monster Floor EZ1 Steam Cleaner

What an awesome product. The machine does everything that it claims to do. Very easy to use just make sure you turn it on aand heat it up for 3-4 minutes before you use it. It's fairly lightweight and does a great job of cleaning wood and tile floors.

It does the job well
I am pleased with the performance of this product. The water tank is a bit small and you have to be careful when you fill it.
