Bagless Stick Cleaner - Exciting new style - Bagless dirt cup - High Performance 6+ amp motor - Swivel nozzle - Quiet - Lightweight - 20' Cord
Amazon.com Review:
Slim and speedy, the 6-amp Hoover Flair stick cleaner is a handy cleaning tool for bare floors and low carpets. It has a 10-inch floor nozzle for efficient coverage and collects dirt and debris in a bagless dust cup for easy upkeep. The cup is clear for monitoring and pops off quickly to empty in the trash bin. A washable cloth filter is included inside, and an additional side-mounted filter helps keep smaller particles from returning to the atmosphere of your home. In operation, the handle drops to horizontal for maneuvering under furniture, though the oval body may not fit under especially low-slung tables and chairs.
Simple to use, the Flair includes a swivel nozzle design and oversized casters for easy turning. A rocker switch on the handle controls power and a foot-pedal toggle changes the nozzle from "bare floors" to "carpets." Outfitted with a 20-foot power cord, the vacuum comes with quick-release cord hooks and a hole in the handle for hanging storage. Hoover includes a one-year warranty. --Emily Bedard

Great product and great value
When I plugged it in, I was amazed at the power of this little device. The motor generates so much torque that it actually twisted in my hand when I turned it on. I only use it on bare floors, but it makes short work of the job and it's very lightweight and easy to use. Nice long cord, too.

Great on bare floors, terrible on carpet.
I used this for the first time today to clean my apartment that is all hardwood except for the area rug in the living room. This product does not work well at all on carpet to pick up animal fur! It basically sucked up a little dirt and moved the fur around in globs that I could pick up by hand.
On the other hand, it was fantastic on the hardwood and tile. It was great at picking up dust bunnies and didn't blow them around at all. The suction was actually good enough to pick them up before the vacuum even reached them. It was also great on picking up cat litter without spitting it anywhere. That's the main reason I chose this one and it worked wonders. The largest item it had to pick up today was dry cat food and that was no problem.
The dust cup is very simple to empty and the filter is very easy to clean. You should plan on cleaning both after each use, but that pretty much consists of emptying and rinsing with warm water.
The vacuum is very easy to maneuver and it does work well under low furniture. It can practically lay flat on the ground and still pick up.
I would have given it five stars if it were advertised for bare floors only. For the price, definitely worth it but you'll want something else to do a nice job on carpet.

Thank goodness
I have hardwood floors in two levels of my townhome. I have a cat who tracks cat litter eveywhere. This product which I just got yesterday is great. I had a Eureka stick and the wheels started leaving marks on my floors. Then again it was three years old. Also FYI if you have harwood floors use the Bona product line to clean them. Great product I have used it for three years.

Sucks up a storm
I'm after Doberman hair, and the dirt the many toothed dude brings in the house.
Easier than a dry mop since I don't have to move chairs and the like around as much, can work around.

Waste of money! Overheats, no suction, save your money
Received in 10 weeks ago, I have used it no more than 15 times on tiny areas like kitchen, hall, etc.....hardwood, not carpet.........though difficult to empty filter and to store, was tolerable.......
Now it overheats even though used no more than 10 minutes.......engine shuts off........as of two hours ago, still off!!!
I suppose if I saved the box for this vacuum, wanted to pack it up and go to UPS and ship it at my expense, they might help..........as it stands, will vote by telling you DON'T BUY THIS

Stopped Working at 2 month mark
I clean out the filter after every use because it works so well. I cannot believe how much dirt, dust, and dog hair it picks up. So imagine my surprise today when it just stopped working and I have used it maybe 10 times...

OK but nothing special
Seems to be reasonably well built. I plugged it into a Kill-a-Watt meter, and it read 5.55 amps, 636 watts. Power seems OK for upholstery and car seats as long as deep suction is not required.
The design of the attachments renders them essentially useless. There is so much suction leakage that the attachment hose couldn't pick up loose sand from the car floor mat. For that kind of work, this definitely won't compete with the old Eureka Mighty Mite.
It comes with a spare belt. Cleanup of the dirt chamber and filter is not difficult.

Loud! and belt broke in a couple hours
I used to be a janitor for 4 years, when I was in college. I used a Dirt Devil. It was awesome -- the one with the bag on the back. So I really thought this was a good move. I read on here that it was loud, but, ah, they're just being picky! Not a chance. This thing hurt my ears AND my wife's ears.
On top of that, the belt broke within a couple hours of use.
As a mechanical engineer, I design products. Unfortunately, companies drive us to take cost out of perfectly good products to save them money. Eventually they have to make it so thin and cheap, the original quality is shot and they're hoping to sell on name recognition or previous product's history. This Dirt Devil feels solid. The problem is it is so incredibly loud. Also, there must be something wrong with the drive, because the belt broke within a couple hours of use.
We sent this piece of junk back.
I do not recommend this product. I would not EVER buy it again. EVER!
Now -- can anybody help me find a good hand vacuum for my carpeted stairs? Thanks.

little dirt devil does a big job
I am very pleased with the small hand-held dirt devil sweeper I bought. It replaces a litle dirt devil I had used for 15 years. Always loved it but it finally died. This new one has more features and more suction. Just great for me to use for many things as I have bad pain and loss of strength in my hands and it is not too heavy.

Dirt Devil 100 Classic handheld Vacuum - is good overall
Vacuum has plenty of power - good for steps and areas of plush rugs around desks and tables. Only complaint is that exhaust air goes horzontally out the sides, so I duct-taped some cardboard to deflect the air upwards so it wouldn't blow the dust around. Electric cord is nice and long and, overall it's a good buy for cost.

New batteries: 30-35% off Dyson's price
Question for Dyson DC16 owers:
Would you pay .99 for new batteries in your battery pack? I'm a Dyson DC16 owner as well. I LOVE the DC16, but struggled to find replacement battery packs at a better price than Dyson's .99 price. I've found a solution!
Easy process: Pay the .99, then mail me your battery pack (via inexpensive media mail) . I replace the batteries and mail it back postage free. I've replaced batteries in Dyson DC16 vacs in my local with 100% successs!
QUESTION: How many would be interested? Reply here please.
If there is enough interest, I'll post ads on different websites.
------------
I'd be interested in buying used battery packs. I'm interested mainly in the plastic housing, so that I can lower my pricing even further. If I get enough housings for battery packs, it may not be necessary to mail me yours for this offer.

Finally Trashing Ours
We give up. We have had the unit about a year or slightly longer, used it maybe once a week. Horribly short battery life and now the battery will not take a charge. We have the yellow Dyson upright and love it (except for the bizarre hand held attachments) and bought this one hoping for another good product.
But it's just not worth spending any money on for a replacement battery - just to have a unit that works marginally.

TOTALLY TERRIBLE - DON'T BUY
As others have stated I also purchased an upright vac years ago and had much success with it, so I purchased the hanheld thinking I was getting a smaller power-packed version of the upright. GUESS WHAT???
IT'S TOTALLY TERRIBLE! THE CANISTER IS AKWARD TO HOLD - SEEMS TOP HEAVY AND BULKY. YOU NEED CONSTANT PRESSURE ON THE OPERATING SWITCH FOR IT TO RUN. IT DOES NOT FIT INTO TIGHT SPACES AS YOU THINK A NORMAL HANDHELD WOULD. BATTERY LIFE IS NON-EXISTENT - SEEMS I'M LUCKY IF I GET 2-3 MINUTES OF VAC POWER WITH IT. CANNOT EVEN VACUUM THE COUCH FINDINGS THE KIDS HAVE LEFT BECAUSE THE BATTERY QUITS SO SOON. HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED - WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!

DYSON DC ROOT 6 HANDHELD VACUUM CLEANER
yes, we purchased this item as a gift , and they said it was the best one they have ever used and that they love it.

for a f****** replacement battery!?!?!?
The battery lasted less than a year. It costs half the price of the original unit just to replace the battery.

WindTunnel Technology uses computer designed air ducts to provide a powerful dual air stream to enhance dirt pick up capabilities. The WindTunnel design also reduces the scattering of debris, common to many ordinary canisters. The WindTunnel Bagless Power Nozzle Canister with Electronic finger-touch variable speed control, remote fingertip power on/off and remote fingertip brush roll on/off, picks up more dirt than any other canister...period!
Amazon.com Review:
Hoover’s latest canister stands out for its design-savvy looks, not to mention the fact that it cleans with powerful WindTunnel technology. Dirt particles are cleverly ducted away from the spinning agitators to ensure they’re captured in the bagless dirt cup and not sent back out onto the carpet. The HEPA filter traps minute allergen particles and conveniently removes for cleaning. Large, soft wheels allow the compact 12-amp vacuum--which looks like it could play a robot extra in Star Wars--to maneuver easily. Best of all, the handgrip features electronic control buttons for power on and off, variable suction (allowing smooth transition from wood floors to area rugs), and agitator action speed for carpets. Tools are easily attached to the telescoping wand, making it a snap to switch from cleaning floors to using drape and upholstery tools. A one-year warranty covers this unique vacuum against defects.
- Bagless cansister vacuum with WindTunnel technology
- 15 Power Nozzle styling has a low profile design for cleaning tough-to-get-at places
- Deluxe Pump Handle design allows for near effortless control and operation
- Finger-Touch Variable Speed Control provides flexibility in varying suction

Hoover Quality???
I purchased this vacuum in January of 2009 because of all the good reviews; it is now 14 months later and I'm finding out that considering how much I paid for this Hoover, the quality is terrible. The suction was never really that great and now the controls sometimes don't work. Are Hoovers only good to last a little more than a year (right after the one-year warranty ends)? I liked the idea of a bagless vacuum, but I had to clean it out every other week. I would NOT recommend this product because I think for the money you pay for this vacuum, it should have better suction and last more than 14 months.

Not good for pet hair
I bought this based on many of the reviews that said it was great for pet hair. I have two dogs. It is terrible for pet hair.
I am constantly pulling built up hair out of the bristles, unclogging the hose, cleaning out the path from the brush to the hose, etc.
While it does seem to pull dirt, it refuses to actually clean hair off the carpet, and it lays the hair out in a static-y mess on the floor.

Excellent Value
I've owned this vacuum for over a year, and it still functions perfectly. The suction is great, the filter is washable, and the carpet-beating attachment rivals the Miele of the same size. I have two small dogs, kids and a passion for cleaning (lol). This hoover is up to the task! ***** full stars!

broken soon, only half a year.
I am very satisfied at the first 3 month. Then, the tie is broken, after 6 months, it doesn't work anymore.

Little power house!
Means serious business when it comes to cleaning. Dirt cup is small, but not a big deal to empty. Shampooed the carpet (also a Hoover), later this little power house lifted even the most matted spots of carpet I had. Looks better than ever. Very happy.

Great Steam Cleaner overall
The company has been fabulous to deal with, responding to my email questions almost immediately. I love the steam cleaner as it has enough power to effectively loosen dirt from floors and shower walls with little effort. The "slight" drawback is they provide only one cloth for wiping the surfaces, but you can purchase additional cloths from them or simply use other microfiber cloths or towels. I also like the long flexible tube as you can easily reach high places and corners without fighting with a stiff extension wand. Yet the two hard wands are handy in other situations, like floors. I do wish the flexible tube was detachable for easier carrying and transporting of the unit, but that is a trivial concern. The water tank is a good size so you don't have to refill it often. I can usually get my cleaning done on one tank. I have used other steam cleaners and found this to be more powerful and a very good value for the cost. Overall, I am EXTREMELY happy with this machine.

Very Disappointed!
I am the type of person who does a lot of research before I buy what I was sure is the best machine and boy was I WRONG on this one! I got this machine to mop the floors, clean the grill, clean grout, clean windows, clean stainless steel fridge, and sanitize kids toys. Very disappointed with the way this machine handles every task on my list.
Mopping floors:
Tile worked ok then on the sealed wood floors it left noticeable streaks messy looking. One thing it did do was take of little paint specks on the floor but it took forever. To hard to mop the stairs and a pain to carry up the stairs. That was using the nozzle in the picture. Oh and by the way they only give you one pad that's very flimsy.
Clean the grill:
Pointless doesn't clean it.
Clean grout:
Takes forever much quicker to do it by hand.
Clean windows:
Terrible sopping wet and streaky.
Clean stainless steel:
Sopping wet again then tried using a towel on top of the squeegee attachment it was very streaky.
Sanitize kids toys:
Just made a puddle of water easier to wipe then down with hot water.
I don't understand why this machine has such good reviews. I have bought the eureka enviro for mopping will see how that works in a couple of days.
What a waste of money and the little brush tools do ruin quickly if you have to press at all.
There is a handle on the machine but no shoulder strap. I always got the maching caught up on the cord and the nozzle wire annoying.
Its annoying to drag that canister around everywhere you go in the house.
You have to wait a while for it to start.
If you want a quick machine to get the job done correctly and neatly don't buy this one.
Hope this review helps someone I wish I never bought this machine.

Great steamer
I agree with the other reviews, this is a great steamer. Well built
and the steam lasts. We had a hand held steamer that was heavy to lug
around with water inside than tried the Monster which was too big to
fit in close areas and left the floor sopping wet. Glad we found this
one.

Very good, but not perfect
I just bought one yesterday and have begun cleaning away. The unit seems to be built rather well, including the accessories.
It includes a number of small bristle brushes for scrubbing while steaming. Don't expect too much from them if you scrub aggressively. I flattened one out in about 10-15 mins of use.
It could use some nice way to wrap the cord and hose. There also isn't any place to store most of the accessories to keep them together.
Its kind of silly that the hose is on the side opposite of the steering wheel. You can't really pull it along well, although I wouldn't pull it if its not on a smooth surface. You wouldn't want the hose coming out or breaking and then having steam blow everywhere.
One thing I noticed, more expensive machines aren't supposed to do this, is that you will get a lot of puddling if you don't move very quickly. This means that its not a good choice for steam cleaning fabrics like drapes, chairs, and carpets because you could create a mold issue with all of the water that is left behind.
Remember that steam cleaning is not necessarily easier, you're just cleaning with out chemicals. You're first cleaning may be difficult if there is alot of grime to remove. But maintenance cleanings afterwards will be easier.
I got mine cheaply enough so I can live with some of the short comings. I would recommend to a friend who doesn't want to spend a ton of money on a better quality one.

mccoulloch steam cleaner
I was very disappointed with the effeciency of this product. I bought it for house whole use. It is not powerful enough for what I intended to use it for, cleaning soap scum from fiberglass showers and glass shower doors. It still requied a lot of intense scrubbing. I probably will just do it by hand instead of dragging out the equipment and wasting time setting everything and then cleaning everything up for storage. I was really hoping this would be the answer to this task.
