screw this
This is a vaccuum made in China that I got for over 120$. The first steps for the quick assembly is to attach the handle to the vaccuum with a screw that is supposed to be taped to the handle in the box. There was no screw with the model I received, therefore, the vaccuum was inoperable. After calling Hoover's customer assistance, who's number is on the front page of the assembly booklet, and after waiting on hold for 10 minutes, I was told I could get the replacement screw in 7-10 business days. That is not nearly good enough for a 120$ piece of equipment. I'm returning it for a brand that has better quality control and customer service. If the entire operation of the vaccuum relies on one screw, and that screw isn't supplied, then there is no telling what else missed the quality control for the rest of the vaccuum.

Best Vacuum Ever!!!!!!!!!!!
This is by far the best vacuum I have ever had. When I used it the first time it looked like I had cleaned my carpets professionaly.I have pets & 3 teenage boys, and this vacuum can keep up with all of it!!!The attachments are great and I love the cord retracter. I just bought a Bissell for the upstairs for about the same price and it doesn't even come close to the performace of the Hoover. Don't even bother looking around, because you will not find a better vacuum for the money or otherwise!!!!

Fantastic Vacuum!
Does a great job cleaning both carpets and hard floors. Love the retractable cord. Wish it had come with a brush-type attachment for the hose.

One of the best vacs i've ever owned! And i've owned many.
Over the years, i've owned many vacs from Electrolux to Fantom to Sears to Eureka to Oreck to Dyson. This Hoover has great suction and allows you to manually set carpet level. It tracks very well and has only gone through one belt in the year that i've had it (usually takes only 10 minutes to replace). Emptying the dirt is very easy with the bottom emptying canister. The auto cord retraction is a great feature as well, and comes in very handy. If I had to nitpick, I would have wished you could turn the brushes off so it could work well in hard floors or tile. It works OK, but sometimes the brushes rolling will throw small debris around. Which is why I also have a smaller Eureka 'Optima' for hard floors. All in all, Hoover has done their homework with this bagless vac, and it shows.

I love it!!!
I love this vacuum it's the best I have ever owned. I too read all the reviews and this is the one I picked I am very happy with the vacuum, if you are the type that likes to use your vacuum for dusting then this is it! It also is great on both floors with no carpet and those with, it is very powerful and I love the retractable cord! Just push the button and its all coiled up in second I would recommended this one to everyone!

Junk
My parents have an Electrolux vacuum that is over 30 years old and running like new so I didn't hesitate to spend the money on this highly rated Electrolux product about two years ago. This vacuum cleaner is a complete waste of money. My first reaction when I got the vacuum was to return it because of the cheap plastic construction. I chose to keep the vacuum because after all it's an Electrolux and they are the best. Wrong. In addition to the Wal-Mart grade plastic construction, the electrical contacts between the hose and canister required regular adjustment to keep the vacuum running. Once the handle started falling apart I couldn't stand the constant tinkering with this very expensive vacuum. It was much quieter than the 14 year old Kenmore vacuum that it replaced and bagless designs are great. I am still using the Kenmore. The Electrolux went out with the trash.

Great at first, but only lasted 2 years.
I bought this vacuum two years ago and here is my overall review:
PROS:
great suction
worked pretty good on my shag carpet
great on my hardwood floors
CONS:
broke down after a year (got it fixed)
broke down again after 17 more months (will not pay to fix this time)
0 for two and a half years of use is not reasonable to me
After a year of owning the vacuum, I was vacuuming in one area and unplugged to vacuum the stairs. Once plugged back in, I tried to turn the vacuum on. It would not turn on. I let it sit thinking it may have overheated. It still did not turn on. I let it sit overnight and tried again the next day - still nothing. We took it to a vacuum repair shop and got it fixed. The repairman said the motherboard was fried (I didn't realized vacuums had a motherboard). The salesman there said "The same thing is going to happen again within the next 18 months". I thought he was just doing his job and trying to sell me a new vacuum, but it turns out he was right on the money. Seventeen months later, exactly the same problem - except this time I started out on the stairs and moved to the family room. Working one minute, and very literally not working the next minute.
Now I am looking to spend more money and buy a really good vacuum. I want one that will last 5 - 10 years, however the more I read the more I think NO vacuum will last this long.
Anyway, buy with caution.

Dottie
I am very happy with my new vaccum. I arrived on time and works like my last Electrolux---perfect. Thanks and yes I would order it again from this same company.

Great!
It works great! Very light weight which is what I was looking for, I like the ease of changing from carpet to bare floor with a push of a button. It is very manageable around furniture and under furniture. Highly recommended, with three cats and one big yellow dog it picks up lots of hair, I have to empty it often but expected that with all the hair. Also the shipping was fast, and well packaged!

piece of junk
I bought this yesterday, vacuumed two carpets, emptied the dust holder twice and it stopped working. The "carpet" mode does not turn on. I have let the motor "rest" overnight, checked the connections, wands, etc. It's a piece of junk. I am returning on its first day after arrival. The 1-star reviews on Amazon are RIGHT. Please read them and do not buy.

Definitely not a Dyson
I bought this vacuum after reading mixed reviews. To say it's heavy is an understatement. It's extremely heavy. My Dyson (which I've had for years) I can lift by the handle and by the canister which also has a handle on it. Trying to lift the Bissell to get it up stairs or over the bottom rail of the kiddie gates which lays on the floor is impossible. The canister will come off immediately in my hand if I try to use it's handle along with the main handle. That means you can only lift it my the main handle (the thing you hold to push it) and now that keeps coming off in my hand too. I've also found it doesn't pick up very well on vinyl or laminate floors, especially the little chunks of kibble my bird throws on the floor. My dyson is much better at that. This vacuum is great on carpets though. Picks up the pile and crumbs and just about everything.
I wish I had saved my money and gotten a second dyson.

Sorry I bought it
They call this the "Healthy Home" vacuum. Ironically, I end up breathing in more dust with this thing than a bagged vacuum. The canister is very difficult to empty without reaching your hand up into it and pulling the dirt and debris out, and in the meantime, inhaling UNHEALTHY dust particles. I've found it's an exercise in breath holding, seeing if I can pull out all the gunk on one breath of air. Second, the latch on the bottom of the canister broke, so the whole lid comes off every time I empty it; it takes me about 3 minutes each emptying to get it realigned and back on. Third, the handle keeps getting misaligned, so that the vacuum turns off and I have to push the handle back together to get it to work. This happens 2-3 times every time I use it. Third, the on/off switch is placed in a position such that it gets easily bumped and will shut off. Fourth, it is top-heavy, so when I am using the attachment hose, the whole thing falls over on me-very annoying, and painful. Fifth, you have to buy a very expensive filter every year or so (and I thought I would be saving money on vacuum bags!). I would NOT buy this vacuum again! I will say that it does have powerful suction, but the suction it gets does not make up for all the hassles. So, this vacuum really SUCKS!

Great Suction, Bad durability
I owned this vacuum for 2 years before the motor broke down on me. I was really upset because up until this time it had incredible suction, though it ought to weighing in at 26 lbs! I would not recommend this to people who have a 2 story house cause it's terrible carrying up and down stairs. It was a great vacuum, but for 300$ I would have expected it to last longer. I bought a refurbished Hoover windtunnel from Big Lots for and I feel like I am getting the same clean. I would definitely rethink my purchase if I could do it all over again.

Big Disappointment
I bought this vacuum probably 2 years ago. I paid nearly 0 but I was very happy...AT FIRST. For the first year things were good. My complaints were that it was quite heavy and often tipped over (usually hitting me in the back) when I used the attachments. The canister was also a little messy to empty. But it really did a great job cleaning. And then it started to fall apart. First the brush seized up & would not rotate. It has some kind of internal belt, that cannot be changed like the standard vacs. I had to pay to buy a new brush and spend hours taking the thing apart and putting it all back together. A month later the self propel feature stopped working. Not the end of the world. But then the canister started falling apart piece by piece. And now the think is ducked taped and bungee strapped together while I shop for my next vac. The only thing I can guarantee is that I wont be purchasing another Bissell product.

Good when it is not broken.
This did great job while it worked. Suction was good, and it cleaned well, but the canister design was terrible. Had to really work to empty it. As far as malfunctions, First we had to replace the handle because the on off button wasnt working. Next the hose ripped and we were sent a replacement. Finally the brush started making funny sounds and smelling really bad, was told by Bissell that we would need to take it to an authorized dealer. We were not too into travelling far distances to make this happen so we just bought a Dyson.
