Indispensible
I love this vacuum! We have hard floors in the diningroom, kitchen & hall. This vacuum allows us to keep up with our growing family and the daily messes. The vacuum is easy to handle so that even the kids can effectively help out. It is easy to clean. I have never had any problem with the recharable battery running out before I'm done vacuuming. I have had one of these models myself for over a year and just bought this one for my parents. They love its light weight and easy access recharging stand. A great value and indispensible for our family!

Not for use as a vacuum
I've read some of the reviews and found that people who are rating this thing highly are the ones who are sweeeping up their floors and then vacuuming up the sweepings. This is not what a vacuum is for. If you can't use it as a vacuum, then it isn't a vacuum.

This vacuum will have a dead battery within 3 months
This vacuum has terrible suction power
This vacuum has a tiny dustcup which must be emptied before use and several times during use to maintain the already poor suction.
This vacuum has cheap plastic parts which frequently break, (ex. the small rollers on the bottom which make it possbile to roll the vacuum around)

After owning this product for a month and suffering the headaches, I hope this review can save you time and money and especially the headaches.

Good vacuum for quick clean ups / daily cleaning
My friend had one of these for years, so I already knew what to expect from it. I use this vacuum for everyday LIGHT cleaning on tile and laminate flooring. I'll also use it for quick clean ups on carpet or rugs, but I usually just use the hand vac for that. Some people complain about it lasting only 15mins, but that's all I need. For more thorough cleaning, I'll bring out the big guns :-)

PROS: Two in one vac, love how you can go from cleaning floors to using the hand vac in seconds. Has enough suction to pick up crumbs in the kitchen or dirt tracked in from outside by the exterior doors. It's light and easy to maneuver to get underneath tables and chairs. The charging station has a blue backlight when it's docked which makes for a convenient night light. I also like the option of emptying it by using a conventional vacuum to suck the dirt out a front access hole.

CONS: Like any bagless vacuum, when you try to dump clean the container, you get a dust cloud. That's why I like the option of vacuuming out the dirt. Also, the rotating brush seems to kick dirt around half the time. Fortunately, the brush is removalable for cleaning. I just leave it out all the time. More suction would be nice as always for a vacuum, but it's adequate for a stick/handheld vac.

Overall, I would recommend this vacuum for light, everyday cleaning.

Horrible Quality - Electrolux should be embarrassed!
My wife and I purchased this useless piece of garbage to replace a similar product under the auspices that it being an electrolux must be of high quality. Immediately I noticed that the vacuum was extremely difficult to pull backwards on a carpet, as though the wheels do not work. Then after the third use the spinning mechanism on the bottom stopped working because hair got stuck in the bottom. It was relatively easy to remove, but now every third time we use it, we have to perform minor surgery on this piece to remove the hair. We live in a 1 bedroom apartment, we're not talking about a significant amount of usage.

Absolutely the worst vacuum I have ever owned! Do yourself a favor and do not buy this vacuum!

Best I have found!
I purchased this little stik vac to take care of my laminate floors and it has not disappointed me at all. I have tried a shark cordless vac, a swivel sweeper (which was good, better on carpet) and just doing it with a broom and dust pan. This vac does not catch and drag grit under it with the possibility of scratching the floor. It works on carpet and the best part is the little hand vac on board. You can just pop it off and do the edges around doors or hard to reach spots. With the other vacs you had to go get a dustbuster and come back to do it and then go replace it in its' charger. Don't let the price stop you!! Worth every penny and I would re-order it in the future if needed!

My parents have an Electrolux vacuum that is over 30 years old and running like new so I didn't hesitate to spend the money on this highly rated Electrolux product about two years ago. This vacuum cleaner is a complete waste of money. My first reaction when I got the vacuum was to return it because of the cheap plastic construction. I chose to keep the vacuum because after all it's an Electrolux and they are the best. Wrong. In addition to the Wal-Mart grade plastic construction, the electrical contacts between the hose and canister required regular adjustment to keep the vacuum running. Once the handle started falling apart I couldn't stand the constant tinkering with this very expensive vacuum. It was much quieter than the 14 year old Kenmore vacuum that it replaced and bagless designs are great. I am still using the Kenmore. The Electrolux went out with the trash.

Great at first, but only lasted 2 years.
I bought this vacuum two years ago and here is my overall review:

PROS:

great suction
worked pretty good on my shag carpet
great on my hardwood floors

CONS:

broke down after a year (got it fixed)
broke down again after 17 more months (will not pay to fix this time)
0 for two and a half years of use is not reasonable to me

After a year of owning the vacuum, I was vacuuming in one area and unplugged to vacuum the stairs. Once plugged back in, I tried to turn the vacuum on. It would not turn on. I let it sit thinking it may have overheated. It still did not turn on. I let it sit overnight and tried again the next day - still nothing. We took it to a vacuum repair shop and got it fixed. The repairman said the motherboard was fried (I didn't realized vacuums had a motherboard). The salesman there said "The same thing is going to happen again within the next 18 months". I thought he was just doing his job and trying to sell me a new vacuum, but it turns out he was right on the money. Seventeen months later, exactly the same problem - except this time I started out on the stairs and moved to the family room. Working one minute, and very literally not working the next minute.

Now I am looking to spend more money and buy a really good vacuum. I want one that will last 5 - 10 years, however the more I read the more I think NO vacuum will last this long.

Anyway, buy with caution.

Great!
It works great! Very light weight which is what I was looking for, I like the ease of changing from carpet to bare floor with a push of a button. It is very manageable around furniture and under furniture. Highly recommended, with three cats and one big yellow dog it picks up lots of hair, I have to empty it often but expected that with all the hair. Also the shipping was fast, and well packaged!

piece of junk
I bought this yesterday, vacuumed two carpets, emptied the dust holder twice and it stopped working. The "carpet" mode does not turn on. I have let the motor "rest" overnight, checked the connections, wands, etc. It's a piece of junk. I am returning on its first day after arrival. The 1-star reviews on Amazon are RIGHT. Please read them and do not buy.

Good suction, but clip that holds handle upright broke after a couple of months
The suction on the vac is great, but the quality is not up to the usual Electrolux quality that I've come to expect over the years. Something snapped after a couple of months of use and the handle will no longer stand upright. This is a real inconvenience; and I'm sure way too expensive to have to ship it back for repair.

I have to say, I really didn't know how well my vacuum was not working until I took a big leap and bought this vaccuum. I consider myself a pretty clean person, thoroughly cleaning the house about once per week. I have always had an upright, but since I have a 2 story looked into the canister. This vaccuum is so quiet and easy to carry. It is a bit odd to pull the vaccuum behind, but the the job it does and the ease I can change the tools from floor to cleaning the blinds is great! I have a thicker carpet higher pile carpet, which I was concerned about the cannister based on reviews, but this Vaccuum automatically adjusted itself and really sucks and digs into the carpet. You don't feel the need to continuously go over areas that are higher traffic because it does such a great job the first time around. Pet hair is no problem for this vaccuum. Also I am a longtime allergy sufferer, and dust and allergens are not kicked up like they typically are. I also use it for all hard floors and it is great. For stairs and car vacuuming I highly recommend the powerbrush attachment. Before purchasing it, I was leary on the price because for me that is quite a bit of money. But I am so happy with it, it was well worth the dent in the pocket book.

Great for allergies
I've only had it for a couple of weeks but my impression so far is that it's great. I bought this one since I have allergies, plus we're having a baby soon and I wanted to make sure our place was properly cleaned :)

Electrolux is great
We had an Electrolux canister vacuum when I was growing up and that is why I purchased this model, plus I like red. It is great, far more vacuuming power than I am used to and it works great on hard surfaces as well as carpet.

Whisper Quiet?... not quite...
This Electrolux vacuum is alright... but the PowerHead is not quite as quiet as I thought it would have been... otherall a good vacuum.
